Letter Five Seal 信五封

$55.00
sold out

Letter Five Seal 信五封 includes five letters I wrote. Letter 1 was written in 2022 when Yunyu “Ayo” Shih 施昀佑 invited me to curate a bookshelf for the Taipei International Book Exhibition, and I wrote about 6 formative books; Letter 2 was written and read to a class of graduate students from School of Dance at the University of the Arts, in which I reflected on the danger, technologies and affect in reading, writing and learning. Letter 3 was read at Museum of Art and Design at the end of a residency, in which I attempted to respond to overdue questions that people had asked her about her works and her being. Letter 4 contains unclear messages and is addressed to unknown others. Letter 5 is excerpted from an email I wrote to a friend in 2020 in discussion of the nature of correspondence and of friendship, which is now partially shadowed by a passage of Kafka’s, where he asked: “How on earth did anyone get the idea that people can communicate with one another by letter!”

self-published, numbered edition of 55, 26 x 38 cm (folded), 2022
